Assalaamualaikum dear Brothers & Sisters

By the grace of Allah (SWT) our masjid in the city of Worcester, being Al –Madina Islamic Centre has now been established for 30 years. It has been a source of knowledge and guidance to our community and place of comfort and worship to Muslims of all backgrounds and nationalities from across the county.

Alhamdulillah with your help we have been able to secure a deal to purchase the former Worcester railway social club. We are pleased to inform you that the site has been approved by the Worcester City Council as purpose built Masjid with number of other community facilities. InSha Allah this site will introduce as Community Resources Centre.

This approximately a 0.4 acre, or in other 5247 square foot plot comprising  of parking for at least 35-40 vehicles and of floor space which would accommodate 500-600 worshippers at least.

However, unfortunately now given the vast growth of our community. We are no longer able to accommodate the number of people who attend prayers and quite simply our community has outgrown this Masjid, Alhamdulillah. For example, on Fridays, individuals are forced to pray outside in the car park of a neighbouring property as there is insufficient space inside the Masjid. Furthermore, naturally as the community has grown so have the number of cars and our Masjid has no parking facilities whatsoever and our worshippers are put off from coming to prayers due to the fear of receiving a parking ticket. In light of the above circumstances, we have actively been on the lookout for an alternative property for a number of years. Our search has finally come to an end and our new premises would facilitate all our current and future needs.

We therefore, appeal to you to show your kindness and join us in this project and assist us in raising the funds. We need to complete this project of re- locating your existing Masjid in Worcester, which is so urgently require. We have no makhtab facilities in our community and the New Masjid would provide us with the space to begin Islamic facilities for our present and future generation. We desperately require in order to maintain the teaching of the Quran and Sunnah in Worcester.

In order to complete this purchase and renovate and develop this Property so that it is fit for the purpose of being a Masjid, Makhtab and community centre, we estimate that funds required in the region of £300000. We humbly request all Muslim brothers and sisters that your kind and generous assistants and donations in establishing this new Masjid & Islamic Centre, by the way of either: (1) giving a sum of money (sadaqae Jaariyah); or (2) lending a donation ( Qarzae Hasanah).
